SUNLY ELECTRICITY PACKAGES, WIND AND SOLAR ENERGY

ABOUT SUNLY
What is Sunly?
Sunly is an Estonian company founded in 2019, focusing on the production, development, and sale of renewable energy.

In which countries does Sunly operate?
Sunly develops and operates wind, solar, and storage solutions in the Baltic States and Poland.

In which fields does Sunly operate?
Sunly develops, operates, and builds wind, solar, and storage solutions. In addition, Sunly sells electricity to residential and business customers in Estonia. In the future, we plan to sell electricity in other markets where we operate.

When will you start selling directly from your own production?
Sunly already operates several solar parks in Estonia, from which we supply energy to our customers today. In 2027, our first wind farm will be completed in Põlendmaa, Pärnu, significantly increasing our production capacity and allowing us to offer our electricity to even more customers.

SUNLY ELECTRICITY PACKAGE

What is the main difference between Sunly’s electricity package and competitors?
Sunly is the only provider offering 100% green electricity at the market price without any hidden margin. Residential customers pay only the market price plus a fixed monthly fee.

How do you guarantee that the electricity is 100% green?
Although we sell market-priced electricity, we certify with guarantees of origin that the amount of electricity consumed by the customer is fed back into the grid as renewable energy.

Is Sunly’s package the cheapest market-based package on the market?
No. It is the most affordable package based on renewable energy.

What are the package prices?
We have created packages based on your annual consumption:
  • S package – €3/month, <3,000 kWh per year
  • M package – €4/month, 3,001–6,000 kWh per year
  • L package – €6/month, 6,001–12,000 kWh per year
  • XL package – €9/month, >12,001 kWh per year

Which package is right for me?
Our packages are based on consumption data from the Estonian TSO. For example, the L package is well suited for homes with annual consumption of 6,000–12,000 kWh (about the usage of an average house). If you’re unsure about your consumption, start with a smaller package – we can move you to a larger one if needed.

Does the monthly fee include grid service charges?
No. The monthly fee applies only to the electricity sales contract, meaning it covers services provided by Sunly as the electricity seller.
All grid service fees – including the grid service monthly fee, transmission fee, connection fee, and renewable energy fee – are added separately and charged by the grid operator (e.g., Elektrilevi) according to their price list.

Can I terminate the market price contract?
Yes. Our market price contract is open-ended, and termination is free of charge.

How can I join Sunly’s electricity package?
You can join us through our website: sunly.ee/elekter.

Can market prices become high?
The market price fluctuates according to market conditions. Over the past three years, the average electricity price has decreased, mainly due to the growing share of renewable energy. Our customers can always view the current price in real time and adjust their consumption accordingly.

Can the monthly fee change?
The monthly fee is calculated based on your annual consumption, and we assign you to the appropriate package accordingly.

How can you offer green electricity at the same price?
We do not add an extra margin for selling green electricity. Although we sell market-priced electricity, we certify with guarantees of origin that the amount consumed by the customer is fed back into the grid as renewable energy. We can do this because we produce electricity from our own parks.

What else does Sunly do to reduce electricity bills for consumers?
We work to lower the total electricity cost for local people and businesses. To achieve this, we are developing various solutions that reduce or shift electricity consumption.

Is the service also suitable for business customers?
Yes, it is! We provide services to both residential and business customers. Learn more at sunly.ee/elekter.

What additional services will be offered in the future?
We plan to offer services that help you use electricity more smartly, keep costs under control, and find the most suitable solutions for your home.

How to set up a new metering point contract?
To set up a new metering point contract, you must first sign a metering point agreement with Elektrilevi.

- Log in to Elektrilevi’s self-service: minu.elektrilevi.ee.
- Select an existing metering point or apply for a connection if one does not exist.
- Sign the grid contract with a digital signature (ID-card, Mobile-ID, Smart-ID).
- Then sign an electricity sales contract with us.
- Consumption starts once both contracts are active.

Is the metering point contract only possible with Elektrilevi?
Yes, at the moment the metering point contract is only possible with Elektrilevi.

What are Sunly’s grid service fees?
Sunly’s grid service fee is not a separate fee set by Sunly but a charge you pay to the grid service provider for delivering electricity. The largest grid service provider in Estonia is Elektrilevi.

COMMUNITY

How are local residents involved?
When developing wind farms, we follow best practices to ensure that the planning process complies with laws, involves local residents sufficiently, and assesses and, if necessary, mitigates all potential impacts.

During the preparation of a wind farm plan, the number, location, and maximum height of wind turbines are determined. Local residents are involved in the process through the local municipality, which represents the interests of the area.

Separate websites are created for all wind farm developments, where you can review documents, follow the progress of the process, and find information about engagement events. You can read more about Sunly’s plans here.

Does having a wind farm near my home reduce my property value?
Studies around the world have shown that any negative effect usually appears after the wind farm development is announced and before it is completed.
After the wind farm is built, property values generally return to at least their previous levels. In Estonia, residents living near wind turbines receive compensation through a turbine fee.

Additionally, Sunly offers local residents cheaper electricity prices. These measures tend to increase property values near wind farms. Property value is often addressed during the strategic environmental impact assessment program, which includes examples from wind farms built elsewhere in the world and their effects on real estate prices.

Do businesses also benefit from having a wind farm nearby?
Absolutely! For several wind farms, Sunly offers nearby businesses the opportunity to consume electricity directly from the wind farm via a direct line. Savings on grid fees can reduce the electricity price by nearly one-third.

Which communities has Sunly signed cooperation agreements with so far?
To date, Sunly has signed cooperation agreements for wind farm developments with the municipalities of Alutaguse and Valga, and with the city of Pärnu.

For solar parks, we have signed agreements with the municipalities of Põhja-Pärnumaa and Lääne-Nigula, enabling them to receive a share of the sales revenue generated from the Raba and Risti solar parks.

The purpose of these cooperation agreements is to channel part of the revenue from renewable energy production back into the community to support regional development. We also plan to sign additional agreements with other municipalities where Sunly has ongoing development activities.

Will cheaper electricity really be available in the future?
Yes. We have currently signed memorandums of understanding with local communities in three locations – Alutaguse, Herros in Valga County, and Pärnu city for the Põlendmaa wind farm.
Compared to the average electricity price in 2024, we offer the following discounts:

  • Uniküla – 77% cheaper, i.e., 2.9 cents/kWh for 10 years, after which the offer will be reviewed
  • Valga – 54% cheaper, i.e., 4.9 cents/kWh (within a 6 km radius or if the wind farm is visible from your property)
  • Alutaguse – 54% cheaper, i.e., 4.9 cents/kWh (within a 5 km radius) for 10 years, after which the offer will be reviewed
  • Põlendmaa – (wind farm expected to be completed in 2027) 54% cheaper, i.e., 4.9 cents/kWh, after which the offer will be reviewed

Additionally, we are developing wind farms in Lääne-Nigula near the Risti solar park, in Maima, and in Väike-Maarja, where we are also prepared to sign cooperation memorandums in the future.

MY SOLARPARK

What should a solar park owner do when, on a sunny day, the market price is 0 or negative?
In such cases, it is advisable to temporarily switch off your solar park. This option is currently under development, and we will inform you as soon as the feature is ready for use.

Does Sunly currently operate your solar park?
At the moment, Sunly does not offer this service, but we are working towards making it available to all solar park owners by 2026.

Does Sunly already offer a battery management service (including participation in balancing markets)?
We currently have a battery management service feature under development and will bring it to you soon.
