Fund Ehitus, which has been active in the Estonian market for more than 17 years, has designed, built, developed, and been the general contractor for more than 100 construction projects and created more than 1,300 new homes. With its new development, Marjamäe Kodud, Fund joined the Sunly Hybrid electricity package.
The construction process is quite energy intensive and many of the energies used in the construction activities are unfortunately derived from fossil fuels. Reducing greenhouse gas emissions is a goal that Fund is moving toward in its activities. In the construction process of its developments, they can make more sustainable choices. The use of renewable energy solutions in major self-build projects is one of the Fund's action plans to manage its environmental impact. In partnership with Sunly, the next phase of the Marjamäe Homes project was built in a way that helps to reduce the carbon footprint and makes economic sense at the same time.
"We are delighted to start working with Sunly as we believe that we share similar values when it comes to reducing our environmental impact. We believe that both companies are focused on long-term sustainability in their operations - Sunly providing renewable energy solutions and Fund developing thoughtful living environments," said Reigo Marosov, CEO of Fund Ehitus.
Fund Ehitus' Marjamäe Homes development switched to renewable energy with the Sunly Hybrid electricity package for businesses. Behind Marjamäe Homes is now 1% of the Aidu solar park, which means 25 solar panels. In addition, Marjamäe Homes is connected to a wind farm in Estonia. These two energy sources cover 35% of their annual consumption. The rest of the electricity needed comes from other solar panels and hydroelectric power plants in the Baltic States.
"Fund Ehitus is very thoughtful and rational in its operations. Providing electricity to their construction site with our district energy solution is a great compliment to us. It shows that if local and transparent renewable energy is reasonably priced, then switching to it is a practical move for the company," comments Siim Lääts, Member of the Management Board of Sunly Retail.
